January 25th
Dear Parents,
Wow… can you believe that January is almost done! Next week we will be celebrating Catholic School’s week. It is a fun week all around. Please try to attend Sunday’s Open House if you are available. Please check the information included in the Friday folder for all that is happening next week. Kindergarten will be busy. There are a few changes to remember: Wednesday : kindergarten does NOT have school since we have changed our conferences to be at the same time as grades 1-4. On some of the calendars for the older students it does indicate that we have school… Rose redid the ones for kindergarten, so please disregard any calendar that says we have school… we don’t.
Also electronics day does not really work so well with kindergarten. We will be having a movie day that day instead! And since it is Groundhog’s day of course we will celebrate that too. I told the kids that I have a great recipe for groundhog, and it is on sale at Giant Eagle next week!!! If anyone is interested in the recipe I am happy to share.
On Tuesday, with the spirit dress down if you could make sure that tennis shoes are part of the dress down that would be great for gym class. And the mini bolt cheerleaders may just wear their uniforms.
In reading we will be practicing sounding out words, especially short a and short o words. It is nice to stop and just practice and review the skills to make sure that they are doing well with them. Most of the kids are really consistent in tapping and clapping… so that is great.
Thanks so much for everything. I really appreciate it. We are now officially half way through the year. As fast as the first semester went, the second half always seems to go faster.
Have a great weekend.
Important dates:
Wednesday 2/1: NO school for kindergarten and grades 1-4
Friday 2/3: Early dismissal : 11:30 NO lunches please.
Sunday 3/18: Easter Bunny Brunch 12 noon
