Oct. 13
Dear Parents,
We have officially started our anti bullying program. This program is a national program and Highmark has funded our program with a grant. The four rules that we will be discussing the next few weeks will be: we will not bully others. We will try to help students who are being bullied. We will try to include students who are left out. If we know somebody is being bullied we will tell an adult at school and an adult at home. It is a great program. Many school districts and other Catholic Schools in the area have implemented it or are in the process of starting it. We have been very lucky to get the grant. If your child is involved either way with bullying, I will be in touch. I am not very concerned about this class at all.
Field trip information: Our field trip is Friday 10/21. Please keep your fingers crossed for nice weather! Please watch the weather to see how warmly your child should be dressed. If it is cold, I would suggest warm layers. They are moving almost all of the time, except for the hay ride, and it can be cold. If it is muddy, boots are not a bad idea. AND if it is muddy, you may want to send in an extra change of pants/ underwear/ socks.. just in case. All children must be packers. The cafeteria will be closed when we return. The children must have a lunch and a drink!
In reading our letters this week will be: Qq, Rr, Ss and Tt. The words of the week will be: he, and she. Please make flashcards for those words and add them to the words you practice with your child. Thanks so much.
In math we will be continue to work on patterns.
In science we are working on how plants and animals need water, and social studies how we show respect for one another.
We are excited to welcome a new student to the all day program: Steven Evanchec.
Thanks so very, very much for all that you do. I really appreciate it so much. This group is so great! I am loving every minute with them. Have a great weekend.
